Sunday Morning Worship

Our Sunday worship service currently meets at Hampton Inn & Suites in Homestead, Fla. We give honor and glory to the Father, His son Jesus Christ, and the Holy Spirit in the banquet hall at the center of the club. You may park in the drop-off drive, or in one of the surrounding parking lots.

At 10 A.M. a special God-sent greeting is given by Pastor Brock Shiffer. With joyous anticipation to begin our dialogue with our heavenly Father, our music team will lift your hearts and open your mind to His word. After a sermon based firmly in scripture, we conclude a little before 11:30 A.M. After services, please stay and enjoy the fellowship, along with the coffee and snacks provided by the members of our church.

Sunday School

Children’s Sunday School is currently available for nursery through age 11. As we continue to grow and add more young families, we look forward to expanding this ministry.

Music Team

The music program at Speedway, under the direction of Michael Roy Eaton, ever strives to broaden the musical horizon. A wide landscape of music has always been a great gift to the church. Our music program is based on the belief that all music is given to the church for praiseworthy use such that we can enjoy a wide selection of music. To that end, we present a diversity of musical styles, as was always the custom in every age of the church before us. The music team has provided the contemporary music of praise and worship. We have sounded English, Celtic, Caribbean, and other international music. We have fielded a handbell choir, a rare music ministry usually seen only in much larger churches. Musical instruments seen at Speedway include guitar, violin, clarinet, flute, bass flute, trumpet, trombone, euphonium, bagpipes, krummhorns, recorders, psaltry, keyboards, and a host of hand percussion instruments. If you are musically inclined, we ask you to join us as we lead our congregation in musical praise and worship.

Bible Study

A Bible study is held the first and third Sunday of every month and led by Ariel Gonzalez. We meet at 6:00 P.M. at the Homestead Power Squadron to share a Pot-Luck Dinner followed by the study. Please check the calendar to see what book we are currently studying.

Prayer Meeting

We meet every Wednesday evening at 7:00 P.M. for prayer, believing that prayer is an essential and vibrant tool given to man by God. Prayer is a partnership between the redeemed believer and God, working together to bring about God’s purposes on the earth. Our prayer time includes praise, worship and intercession, while always seeking to let the Holy Spirit lead. We invite you to join us in this time of true fellowship.

Men’s Group

The men of Speedway Community Church invite you to join us every first and third Monday of the month for an evening of fellowship and sharing the love of Jesus. We meet at various local restaurants to share in a meal and take time to build relationships with one another.  As iron sharpens iron, so one man sharpens another.  We gather to build our relationship with Jesus through the fellowship of our brothers in Christ.  Our group is informal, open, and welcoming to all.  As we grow in our relationships, we are able to share openly with one another our challenges, our victories, questions in our lives, and whatever other issues can come up. We rely on God’s word and on each other for guidance, celebration, understanding, and comfort.  The men are in a year long study of “Men in the Bible”.

Patches

One of the missions of our church is Patches. You can get involved by volunteering to play and read with children, to provide items used in the daily care of the children, diapers, clothing, food, over-the-counter medication and contributes to the food pantry.

Daisy’s Closet

Through Daisy’s Closet we provide free clothing to the needy in our community. Along with donations, we are always in need of individuals to help sort and organize the donations.
